Experimental approach on Wind-Human collaborative crafting
KITE LUTHERIE:
While pursuing my Master’s degree in Sonic Arts, I found myself deeply interested in the character and presence of the wind I was constantly stumbling upon in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Wondering how to establish sonic exchange mechanisms with the wind, I rediscovered the local kiting folk practices and began to study the kite.

Kite is explored as an interface in which coexists Wind-Human sonic interactions.

Kite Lutherie is presented as a Kulturtechnik in which not just the Human but also the Wind's actions get to enreach the 'sonic' instrument crafting process.

The project registers my reflections around this sonic encounters with the Wind presenting the sound making process as a where human and non-human actors are allowed to interact.
